Performance analysis on IPv6 transition technologies and transition method

Өгүүллийн хураангуй: By migrating to the IPv6 technology, we can solve some problems such as lack of address, NAT translation, routing table expansion and defragmentation delay in intermediary devices on IPv4 network. Although IPv6 technology have many advantages, when we made research from 21 organizations and companies in Mongolia, all of them haven’t made transition to IPv6 technology: 85 % of them don’t have plan to switch IPv6 technology and 15% of them is exploring to make transition to IPv6. [1] Therefore, in this paper, we made performance analysis on IPv6 transition technology and determined the phases to transit IPv6 technology. Some works relating to our research are performance analysis on IPv4 and IPv6 network by using real TCP data [2], comparison analysis on various transition mechanisms by using GNS3 emulator [3] and performance evolution on IPv6 transition technologies by using OPNET [4]. The distinguished feature of our work is that we transmitted traffic through real network environment [Fig 1] and made performance analysis based on result. The traffic is generated by Poisson distribution in MATLAB. The paper organized as follows: in section II transition technologies, in section III experiment on IPv6 transition technologies and performance analysis, in section IV mathematical model, in section V transition method and finally conclusion is described.
